Survey delivery and Spam
At Signals, we’re committed to creating a platform that supports clear, respectful, and compliant communication. Upholding privacy and anti-spam standards is essential to maintaining trust and protecting the experience for all users of our platform. To that end, we’ve implemented measures that go beyond standard requirements to ensure that messages sent through Signals comply with global communication regulations.

Overview
Respect for Members' anonymity is at the heart of everything we do. Signals ensures that all messages are delivered in a way that protects Members’ identities, and we provide Members with full control over their participation, including the ability to unsubscribe at any time without revealing unnecessary details about themselves.
In this guide, we’ll cover the key principles behind anti-spam compliance and how Signals helps your organization meet these requirements.
This document is designed as a helpful resource, but it doesn’t constitute legal advice. We recommend consulting legal counsel in your region to fully understand how various privacy and anti-spam laws may apply to your organization.
Why We Require an Unsubscribe Option for Members
At Signals, we’re committed to fostering honest, transparent communication while respecting the privacy and preferences of every Member. To comply with global communication standards and ensure we maintain trust, we require that Members always have the ability to opt out of receiving Signals messages.
This is not just a feature—it’s a critical aspect of adhering to privacy laws like Australia’s Spam Act 2003 and other anti-spam regulations. Without a clear and reliable unsubscribe process, message deliverability can suffer, and the integrity of your communication may be compromised.
This legislation mandates that commercial electronic messages, including emails, SMS, and instant messages, are sent only with the recipient's consent. It also requires that such messages clearly identify the sender and include a functional unsubscribe facility.
- Automatic Unsubscribes: We ensure that Members who opt out are removed from future messages, protecting their preferences and your account's compliance.
- Deliverability Monitoring: Signals tracks how many Members opt out and processes this data responsibly. High unsubscribe rates can impact your organization's ability to reach Members effectively over time.
- Feedback Loops: We manage abuse reports and other feedback automatically to maintain healthy communication practices across all channels, including email, SMS, and Slack.
By including an unsubscribe option, we help protect your account and ensure Signals operates as a trusted communication platform. Attempting to send messages to Members who have opted out is a breach of both privacy standards and Signals' Terms of Use.
The unsubscribe option is seamlessly included in all Signals email messages. For WhatsApp, Slack, and SMS, the unsubscribe process is clearly outlined during the onboarding process, ensuring compliance without additional effort on your part.
If at any point you or the team are lost get in touch at unsubscribe@runsignals.com with your email or phone and we will get it sorted ASAP.
